Coin & Compass

A journal of money, markets, and the math nobody teaches you in school.
Masthead

Slow money, in print.

Coin & Compass is a small editorial project for readers who'd rather understand money than be entertained by it. We publish essays on personal finance, investing, and the parts of capital markets worth knowing about — written carefully, edited slowly, and never timed to the next earnings call.

We're four contributors with backgrounds in fixed income, financial planning, and economic reporting. We've all been wrong about something expensive at least once. That experience is most of what we write from.

We accept no sponsored placements, run no affiliate links, and decline interview requests with anyone selling a course. The site is reader-funded and quietly supported by display advertising in the margins. That's the whole business.

If something here helps you make a better decision, that's the entire point. If something here is wrong, write us — we run corrections in plain sight.
